Yes, the YMCA will be affected by the Affordable Health Care Act. We are the region’s 23rd largest employer. Our Y, like YMCAs across the country, are preparing for the impact of the Affordable Health Care Act by reaching out to hundreds of staff to determine their needs and working with our directors to manage operating expenses, as well as revenue generating ideas, while remaining committed to our role in strengthening community. The YMCA is a nonprofit organization, and, as we have done for the past 153 years, must adapt to a changing environment.
