Taylor Beck, an apprentice in Tech Molded Plastics’ five-year apprentice program, was named the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship through the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA), one of a maximum of 10 that are awarded.
Beck began job shadowing at Tech Molded Plastics, a family owned injection molded plastics company in Meadville, after expressing an interest in pursuing a career in tool making and being put in touch with Dale Pringle, Tooling Operations manager at Tech. Beck is presently one year into the program.The apprenticeship program is offered through Tech Molded Plastics and the Precision Manufacturing Institute (PMI) in Meadville, which partners with various other local schools to develop a curriculum for technical knowledge and training.
