Tech Molded Plastics, Inc., a family owned, full-service, custom manufacturer of precision plastic injection molds headquartered in Meadville, recently received RJG, Inc.’s Training Excellence Award during the 2014 Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference, co-hosted by The Manufacturers Association for Plastic Processors (MAPP) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
RJG created the award in 2012 to recognize plastics processors’ achievements within their Master MolderSM certification program. About 14 percent of Tech’s manufacturing personnel are certified Master Molders, and two of Tech’s Master Molder I processors reached Master Molder II status this past summer. However, the Training Excellence Award has come to acknowledge not just Master Molder certification, but also a broader scope of continuous improvement.
“We look at how companies are maintaining a continuous process of training their work force,” said Matt Groleau, director of Marketing at RJG, Inc. “Each year, when we go through the award process, we make sure that those finalists have at least met the same level of commitment as previous training excellence recipients.”
