Local Expert to Discuss 2017 Economic Outlook at Association’s Eggs ‘n’ Issues Briefing

ERIE — Ken Louie, Ph.D., director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie (ERIE), will be the featured speaker at the Manufacturer & Business Association’s monthly Eggs ‘n’ Issues briefing set for 8 a.m. Thursday, December 8 at the Association’s Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street at Pittsburgh Avenue. All media are invited to attend.

During his presentation, Dr. Louie will discuss the key factors every decision-maker needs to understand about how Erie’s economy has been performing — and what impact national and international economic events could have on their financial outlook for 2017.

In addition to his role as director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie, Dr. Louie is an associate professor of economics in the Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend. He received his B.A. in economics from Northwestern University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of Illinois. His areas of specialization include international trade and finance, the economics of labor markets and the economy of China.
