ERIE — The Manufacturer & Business Association’s (MBA) 112th Annual Event featuring legendary football coach and sports analyst Lou Holtz is sold out, organizers announced. The event starts at 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, at the Bayfront Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier. All media are invited to attend and required to contact Tammy Polanski to register as covering the event.
“We are thrilled and so thankful with the overwhelming response from our membership about having Coach Holtz as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Tammy Polanski, director of Marketing for the MBA. “He is a great coach and an amazing speaker, and we are excited about the unique perspective he will bring to the event, as he shares his thoughts on leadership, teamwork, motivation and how to embrace the values that can help improve any organization.”
The Annual Event will showcase Holtz’s career of inspiring his players and motivating them to be winners, as well as how that advice can be applied to the business world — by encouraging people to hold themselves accountable, by making leaders out of followers, and by embracing the road to achievement.
According to his official biography, Holtz is widely recognized as one of the most celebrated and accomplished coaches in sports history, most notably for taking the struggling Notre Dame football program and building it into being a national powerhouse, which he led from 1985 to 1996. He also is the only coach in NCAA history to lead six different programs to bowl games and the only coach to guide four different programs to the final top 20 rankings.
Holtz eventually brought his experience and charisma to ESPN as an analyst for the network’s college football coverage from 2004-2015. He is also the author of the best-selling Winning Every Day: The Game Plan for Success, The Fighting Spirit: A Championship Season at Notre Dame and Wins, Losses, and Lessons: An Autobiography.
