ERIE – In partnership with Gannon University’s Center for Business Ingenuity, Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System, Inc. (ACES, Inc.) held its second annual School of the Year Competition on March 23.

All winning teams from this past year’s Pennsylvania Business Week programs were invited to compete in an Advertising competition and a Trade Show that both took place at Gannon University’s Center for Business Ingenuity. Teams from Greenville Area High School, Corry Area High School, and Maplewood High School all competed in an effort to win scholarship money.

The grand prize offered by Gannon was an annual $1,000 scholarship, with second place receiving an annual $500 scholarship, and third place receiving an annual $250 scholarship. Greenville took home third place, Corry took home second place, and Maplewood took home first place along with a golden trophy.

ACES presents PA Business Week programs in public schools throughout Western PA during the school year. PA Business Week is designed to allow teams of high school students to manage companies through a business simulation for an entire week. Students are taught how to manage finances, understand the factors of production, execute effective advertising campaigns, and work together as a team to achieve success.
