MBA Website Redesign Helps Members Make the Most of Their Membership

Website design is arguably one of the most important factors in communications today. After all, an organization’s online presence can be the difference between a good customer experience or a great one.

According to recent research, it only takes visitors 50 milliseconds to form a first impression online. Seventy-five percent of users make judgments about a company’s credibility based on visual design alone.

But that’s not all. Design has a huge impact on how easy it is to find what you’re looking for – and navigation and usability are key.

The Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA), for one, recognizes the value that a quality website provides and rolled out its newly redesigned site, www.mbausa.org, to improve members’ user experience, so they can make the most of this online resource to benefit their operations.

“The MBA has and always will be in the people business, but we are excited about how our members can access even more information,” explains MBA President and CEO John Krahe. “The design and navigation of our site has been significantly enhanced. Every detail has been thought of with our members in mind.”

According to Computer and Digital Media Specialist Casey Naylon, the MBA relied on web analytics to find out what members wanted for the redesigned site. Using these statistics determined what members were looking for, what pages they were visiting first and most frequently. Responsive design from Werkbot Studios in Erie was also utilized to create an enhanced site and user interface.

The result has been overwhelmingly positive. “In one year,” says Naylon, “we’ve had a 131-percent increase in visits to our website.”

Once logged in to the MBA’s site, members can now take a virtual tour of the Conference Center, view photos and setup options in each of the MBA’s meeting rooms or check out the catering menu online. They can easily find each of the MBA’s various departments, from training and HR/Legal Services, Employee Benefits and Insurance Services, to its energy program, EnergyAdvisors, and discount logistics program. Members also can easily navigate and find the MBA’s many communications tools, including its premier, monthly member publication, the Business Magazine, which has its own unique web design and information platform for members to engage with at www.mbabizmag.com.

One of the most exciting new additions for MBA members is the ability to view the Association’s complete training catalog online. Members can now see all the courses to take their training to the next level.
