563

TITUSVILLE, PA – The Education & Training Center at Pitt-Titusville will hold its Fall Open House, at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 26, on the ETC at Pitt-Titusville campus, in the Henne Auditorium lobby.

Prospective students and families will be able to meet with the ETC partners to discuss the wide array of programs, as well as ask questions about programs and admissions. ETC at Pitt-Titusville is focused on educational, and workforce opportunities for residents in our surrounding six-county region. ETC’s partners are Pitt-Titusville, Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, Pitt-Swanson School of Engineering’s Manufacturing Assistance Center (MAC), and Manchester Bidwell Corporation’s Brockway Center for Arts and Technology.

Pitt-Titusville offers a two-year, Associate of Science in Nursing. Students learn hands-on skills in the classroom and in clinical settings. Upon passing the NCLEX exam, these graduates enter the field as registered nurses caring for patients and various medical settings in the region. Northern Pennsylvania Regional College continues to use the Pitt-Titusville campus as one of its instructional sites for a variety of associate degree programs, including business administration, criminal justice, general studies, and early childhood education. In addition to its workforce certificates and associate degrees, NPRC also continues to provide pre-requisite classes for students wanting to enter Pitt-Titusville’s Associate of Science in Nursing program.

The Brockway Center for Arts and Technology at Titusville is in its third year of offering its Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy program. The first two cohorts had a 100-percent pass-rate on certification exams, and all students received jobs in their desired field. Both cohorts started at their maximum capacity.

The MAC debuted its programs in 2021 with students completing one or both of its programs in basic machining and/or computer numerical control (CNC) programming. MAC courses can be completed full-time in as little as six weeks or part-time over 15-weeks, with courses starting throughout the year.

“Year over year, we’ve seen enrollment growth amongst all our partners at ETC, said Dr. Stephanie Fiely, executive director of ETC. “We are excited about what the future holds for our campus. The Student Union renovation project will provide increased opportunities in manufacturing, the arts, as well as in workforce development for residents of our region. Our in-person programs assist student learners in developing the necessary skills in their field of study to fill regional workforce gaps. We are working hard to provide the resources for people seeking workforce opportunities and associate degree programs that fit the regional job-market, It is extremely encouraging to see so many residents seizing these opportunities.”
