ERIE — Printing Concepts and Thomas Lee Printing and Mailing have become one company, effective immediately. The company will be located in the state-of-the-art facilities of Printing Concepts, 4982 Pacific Avenue, in the Grandview Business Park. Printing Concepts was founded in 1968 and has grown to be one of the largest and most sophisticated providers of printing, fulfillment, and direct mail services in the tri-state region.
The announcement was made Friday, April 15, to employees of both companies by Michael Martin, president of Printing Concepts and by Scott Lee, president of Thomas Lee Printing & Mailing. Personal letters have been sent to customers and suppliers of both companies to explain the acquisition and the care which will be taken to ensure a seamless transition for all current customers, as well as future business for the expanded Printing Concepts.
In that correspondence, Martin announced that Scott Lee will be joining Printing Concepts, effective today, April 18. “Scott will be bringing with him the history of a company that was founded in 1967 by his late father, Thomas Lee,” Martin said.
“Several members of the Thomas Lee company will be joining us, bringing with them their knowledge of the print and mail industry. That knowledge and experience shall make Printing Concepts an even stronger company, enhancing our ability to better serve our current and future customers,” he said.
Lee said his father, Tom Lee, started his business in 1967 with two other men and $200 in his pocket. “With lots of hard work, and thanks to our loyal customers and suppliers, we grew to become one of Erie’s largest and most respected providers of printing and direct mail services,” Lee said.
“Since Dad’s passing in 2013, I have begun to consider the future of our company and his legacy. Our customers and their business needs are very important to me; I wanted to be sure that any move we make will best suit their current and future needs,” Lee said.
“To that end, I believe Printing Concepts is a perfect fit. Printing Concepts is a highly respected, extremely successful and very stable local business; Mike Martin and his team offer the most sophisticated and comprehensive printing, mailing and fulfillment services within 500 miles of Erie,” he said.
“I have found that Mike Martin and I share the same philosophy regarding the importance of every customer and every job, big and small. “On a personal note, I had known Tom for many years before his passing in 2013,” Martin said. “Tom was a gentleman, a loving husband, father and a well-respected businessman. We are committed to keeping Tom’s values alive as we move forward.”
