Canada’s Consul General to Discuss Thinking Beyond National Borders at March 20 Breakfast Seminar

PITTSBURGH — Chatham University and The Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship will welcome Canada’s Consul General Phyllis Yaffe to Chatham University Shadyside Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the James Laughlin Music Center.

In this era of rapid globalization, entrepreneurs need to consider how international trade agreements and commerce impact their company’s growth and strategic direction. Yaffe, in conversation with Babs Carryer, Innovation Institute, University of Pittsburgh will discuss the need for business leaders to think beyond national borders when developing growth strategy, drawing on her own experience as a corporate leader and as Canada’s representative to Pennsylvania. Yaffe also will address the specific challenges that women entrepreneurs face and how Canada and the United States are working together to ensure that the benefits of international trade extend to all.
