An expert panel from the Department of Labor and Industry addressed area employers during a legislative luncheon on Friday, November 1, at the Manufacturer & Business Association’s Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street in Erie.
The panel – which includes Julia Hearthway, secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry; Gene Connell, deputy secretary, Compensation and Insurance; Greg Shore, deputy secretary, Unemployment Compensation Programs; and Scott Robinette, deputy secretary, Safety & Labor-Management Relations – provided an overview of the systems and procedures that regulate and enforce continuously changing labor laws, and answered questions about workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation and more.
