Describe your organization and the services that you offer.
Bethesda Children’s Home, originally established as an orphanage in Meadville in 1919, now provides mental and behavioral health programs and services to more than 500 children and youth a day at facilities in Crawford and Erie counties. Bethesda offers a continuum of care from the least restrictive community based programs, such as those in Erie at the Bethesda Trinity and Leadership Center, to the most restrictive Residential Treatment Program at our Meadville Campus. Bethesda is accredited by the Joint Commission on Health Care Organizations and was recently named the Large Nonprofit of the Year by the Meadville Western-Crawford County Chamber.

In addition to the financial support, what are some other ways that employers and their employees support your organization?
Bethesda relies upon its volunteers to assist with many different programs, activities, and events throughout the year. The Children’s Home and the Bethesda Foundation for Children board of directors are made up of nearly 20 volunteers from communities throughout western Pennsylvania. The board of directors lends its expertise to provide direction for the future growth of Bethesda as well as its leadership in helping to secure the resources necessary for sustainability of the organization. Volunteers from local colleges and universities, churches, and corporations both in Meadville and Erie, provide mentoring, tutoring, and career counseling for our clients, enhancing their growth and progress for a successful and productive transition into adulthood.
