Westlake Woods Assisted Living

2681

Westlake Woods was developed by Scott D. Allen and Timothy W. Coughlin, two Erie natives, who own LifeServices Assisted Living, a private company operating nine communities in western Pennsylvania and Greater Cleveland, Ohio.

“Our residents helped us understand that, even though they can’t live at home anymore, they deeply value their independence, privacy, dignity, and the choice as to how they live their lives,” says Coughlin. “At all of our communities, every aspect of our design, service, and care approach is with these four values in mind.”

The moment you enter the mahogany front doors of this community, you sense Westlake Woods provides a unique alternative in long-term living unmatched in the greater Erie area.

A Community Designed to Feel Just Like Home.

Westlake Woods offers 68 spacious one-bedroom and studio apartment homes, each with a living room, kitchenette, private bathroom, and oversized windows offering
natural light and views to the Community’s greenspace.

“Our building design and construction approach focused exclusively on creating a comfortable residential environment as much like home as possible,” says Allen, a licensed engineer who leads the LifeServices’ development process. “We created a low-profile building, in a quiet neighborhood, constructed with residential, rather than commercial, construction materials. Everything we did was to avoid any sense of an institutional feel to our Community.”

While all residents enjoy private apartment homes, over half of the interior is a comfortable commons of sunrooms, family rooms, and a Community dining room.

“We know we’ve succeeded when residents refer to our Community as home,” adds Allen.
