ERIE —  Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center will host the 2022 Alessi, Levan, Kebles Forum: Virtual Diversity Summit on July 20 stimulating transformational conversations among human service providers, community leaders, and consumers related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The event is free.

Admiral Rachel Levine, M.D., U.S. assistant secretary for Health will deliver opening remarks. Dr. Isaiah Pickens of iOpening Enterprises will provide the Keynote Address.

Workshop Topics include:

  • Developing a culturally sensitive organization,
  • Identifying and Managing Unconscious Bias,
  • Introduction to Sexual Identity and Gender Expression,
  • Cultural Competency in Treatment Issues,
  • Promoting Mental Health Awareness and Emotional Wellness with Teen International.

According to Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center President and CEO Adrienne Dixon, Ph.D., “Sarah Reed’s commitment to inclusion and diversity runs deep, but we must run harder and dig deeper. As our public discourse becomes more fragmented, we must show up for our community and coworkers and continue to confront racism in all its forms. So we’re setting aside July 20 to learn, to connect, and recommit to DEI initiatives as a region. We’re grateful to our Summit faculty for leading discussions that will challenge us to grow together.”
